The International Relations Office (IRO), under the guidance of Chairman of the Board of Directors, ensure coordination of the Portuguese representation at the international level in the fight against drugs and drug addiction, without prejudice to the competencies of the MFA and the Directorate-General for health and in accordance with the objectives set for the Portuguese foreign policy.
In the exercise of it’s powers, the GRI targets it’s action on the following objectives:
Ensure the external and internal plan, the full cooperation / collaboration of Portugal in order to meet the commitments to the relevant international organizations.
Deepen the Portuguese participation in international organizations.
Coordinate and internally rationalize the Portuguese intervention and international level.
Develop cooperation and exchange activities with other countries.
